WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College suffered its first conference defeat in an 18-3 setback to St. Mary's in a United East men's lacrosse game Saturday. The Wildcats fell to 2-1 United East, 7-8 overall, while the Seahawks improved to 4-0, 10-3.
How it happened: After St. Mary's took a 1-0 lead a minute into the game, Penn College answered when
Aidan McFalls found
Jesse Weick for the equalizer with 8:29 left in the first. The Seahawks answered with nine straight goals to lead 10-1 at halftime.
St. Mary's netted the next five goals before McFalls found
Harrison Schlachta early in the fourth and
Brendan Kuczma finished a
Austin Callahan pass with 6:22 left in the game to make it 16-3.
Inside the box: PCT won 15 of 24 faceoffs and was 13 of 16 on clears.
Dax Shallis turned away 10 shots in goal for the Wildcats.
