Penn College Tennis Sweeps Clarks Summit

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.  — Penn College's tennis teams each scored victories against Clarks Summit University on Saturday, the men winning 8-1, their first of the season, and the women winning 9-0.

Penn College's men now are 1-2 in the United East and 1-6 overall and its women are 3-6 overall as the women's match was a nonconference outing. Clarks Summit's men are 0-1 UE and 0-7 overall and its women are 2-9 overall.

How it happened: For the men, Penn College won five singles and three doubles matches and for the women, the Wildcats won all six singles and three doubles matches.

Inside the box: Posting singles wins for the men were Kyle Shuler at No. 1, Hunter Knosky at No. 3, Logan Ogden at No. 4, Matt Williams at No. 5 and Jaydon Manbeck at No. 6. Doubles winners were Shuler-Kight at No. 1, Manbeck-Williams at No. 2 and Ogden-Will Long at No. 3.

Singles winners for the women were Ellen Buckley at No. 1, Lauren Peck at No. 2, Faith Murray at No. 3, Georgia Macensky at No. 4, Kayla Weinzierl at No. 5 and Cici Miller at No. 6, with Buckley, Murray and Macensky winning in straight 6-0 sets. Winning doubles teams were Buckley-Peck at No. 1, Murray-Macensky at No. 2 and Weinzierl-Miller at No. 3, with Murray-Macensky winning 8-0.
