LA PLUME, Pa. – Penn College knocked off Keystone College, 23-9, in a United East men's lacrosse game Saturday. The Wildcats improved to 4-1 United East, 9-8 overall, while the Giants fell to 3-2, 6-9.
The win locked up the No. 2 seed for Penn College in the upcoming United East playoffs. The Wildcats will have a rematch with Keystone in Tuesday's semifinals with a time still to be determined.
How it happened: Penn College took an 8-3 lead in the first and a 13-5 advantage at halftime. The Wildcats outscored the Giants 10-4 in the second half.
Inside the box:
Aidan McFalls led all scorers with six goals, while
Harrison Schlachta and
Jake Small scored four times and Gage McClune and
AJ Dotson netted a pair of shots. Dotson picked up seven assists, Small added four helpers, and McFalls,
Devin Page, and Brendan Kuzma dished out a pair.
Joey Rebbilas (6 of 8) and
Michael Stank (5 of 14) helped kickoff the offense at faceoff while the defense caused 15 turnovers and Penn College's ride led to 13 failed clear
attempts from Keystone.
Alex Hammond picked up the win in goal with five saves.
