NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. -- Penn College Wrestling earned the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Team Academic Peak Performance award, which recognizes the team with the highest collective cumulative GPA in each sport, the league office announced. 18 Wildcat student-athletes earned a selection on the AMCC Academic All-Conference Team for maintaining a 3.2 GPA or higher for the Fall 2023 semester with 17 earning individual peak performer recognition as they had above a 3.5 GPA.

Penn College finished with the 13th highest team GPA out of the 20 sports teams the conference offers. Seniors, Gabriel Kennedy-Citeroni, Logan Ledebohm and Andy Muzika, juniors, Anton Esterbrook, Noah Hunt and CJ Trimber, sophomores Mason Boltz, Isaac Cory, Liam Goodrich, Mason Leshock, Zachary Miller, and Brett Patton along with freshmen Daniel Clark, Kayden Frame, Travis Green, Cavin Napoletano, Ayden Sprague and Ryan Trimber were all named to the Academic All-Conference squad.

"We have continually emphasized that academics is the floor to our ceiling. We can only continue to elevate our program by raising the floor in which we walk," Wildcats head coach Pankil Chander said. "We have emphasized a high standard surrounding academics because it is what transcends wrestling and is a skill set that will serve our student-athletes well in life. I am proud of our wrestlers' hard work for reaching yet another program milestone with this award."

The Wildcats finished the season with a 9-12 record and finished second in their first appearance in the AMCC Championships with one champion (Hunt - 141), three runner-ups (Luke Heimbach - 125, Patrick Snoke - 141 and TJ Martin - 149), five third-place finishers (Kaden Ware - 133, Goodrich - 157, Muzika - 184, Kennedy-Citeroni - 197, Noicholai Brotzman - 285) and two fourth place finishers (Ryan Trimber, Ledebohm - 165).
