HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. -- Penn College surrendered a pair of second half goals in a 2-0 setback to Centenary University in a nonconference men's soccer match Friday. The Wildcats fell to 0-1, while the Cyclones improved to 1-0.
How it happened: Following a scoreless first half, Centenary broke the deadlock with a goal in the 48
th minute and added an insurance tally in the 69
th minute.
Penn College sent consecutive shots on frame in the 12
th and 13
th minutes, but attempts from
Jimmy Friedman and
Cooper Smith were stopped.
Mason Kostick sent a pair of shots on goal in the 31
st and 38
th minutes but neither found the back of the net. The Wildcats had four looks on goal in the second half but shots from
Robert Antonini,
Alex Heiser, Dakota Buzzy, and Friedman were stopped.
Inside the box: Penn College outshot Centenary 16-11, while both teams had three corner kicks.
Cole Catherman stopped four shots in goal for the Wildcats.
