ALTOONA, Pa. -- Penn College women's soccer began the 2024 campaign with a 0-0 draw at Penn State Altoona on Friday in a nonconference match. The Wildcats and Lions start the season with 0-0-1 marks.
How it happened: Neither side could find the back of the net over the 90 minute contest as the Wildcats held the Lions to just one shot which was turned away from senior keeper
Nicole Lichtinger in the final seconds of the match for her first clean sheet of the season. Penn College fired off 28 shots with nine on goal as their best chance came in the third minute of the first half when freshman
Megan Kurian's try hit off the crossbar. The Wildcats forced action on the offensive side of the pitch as they lined up for 13 corners in the match.Â
Inside the box: Kurian finished her collegiate debut with a team-high seven shots and three shots on goal while
Cassie Johnson chipped in with five shots and two on frame.
