WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Penn College upped its United East win streak to four with a 76-57 home win over Penn State Berks on Thursday. The Wildcats improved to 7-1 in the UE and 10-7 overall. PS Berks is 0-8 UE, 0-14 overall.
How it happened: Penn College outscored Berks in each of the four quarters. In the first frame,
Lexi Troup connected on two 3's, and
Emily Pardee had three field goals for 12 of the team's 22-14 advantage. In the second quarter,
Keeley Baker had three field goals and Troup another trey, while a layup by
Gigi Parlante hiked the Wildcats' lead to 15 with 2:18 left in the half.
In the third quarter, Troup connected on two more 3s, and
Rachel Teats added six points with three field goals as Penn College led by 19 twice and was up 60-44 at the turn for home. Troup drained her sixth trey of the night in the fourth as the Wildcats extended their lead to 21 before winning by 19.
Inside the box: Troup, hitting 6 of 10 treys, led six Penn College players scoring in double digits with 20 points. Also scoring in double figures were Pardee with 13, Teats and Baker with 12 and Parlante with 10.
Hailey Miller led Berks with 15 points, and Ashlyn Clark added 14 points.
