LA PLUME, Pa. – Penn College handled Keystone College, 61-54, in a United East women's basketball game Wednesday. The Wildcats improved to 4-1 United East, 7-7 overall, while the Giants fell to 2-3, 8-6.
How it happened: Following three deadlocks in the opening four minutes, Keystone took a 9-6 lead with 5:39 on the clock. The Wildcats answered with an 11-4 run to lead 17-13 on
Kayleigh Miller's three with 1:17 left and eventually led 19-16 at the end of the first.
Penn College outscored Keystone, 19-8, in the second, while the Giants had a strong second half by outpacing the Wildcats, 30-23.
Inside the box:
Gigi Parlante picked up her ninth double-double of her rookie campaign with a game-high 21 points and a career-best 20 rebounds.
Rachel Teats added 14 points and
Emily Pardee finished with 14.
