LA PLUME, Pa. – Fueled by a pair of hat-tricks by
Sara Darlington and
Ella Garman, Penn College rolled to a 12-1 United East women's soccer victory at Keystone on Wednesday afternoon. The Wildcats extended their regular-season unbeaten streak to 35 and improved to 2-0-0, 9-0-2 overall. The Giants dropped to 0-2-0, 0-7-1.
How it happened: The Wildcats were quick to score three goals within 10 minutes of the match as
Ella Garman scored in the second minute on an assist from
Sierra Klinger. Garman added a second goal in the seventh minute and
Sara Darlington added the third goal at 8:18.
Sara Pecchia netted her first goal of the year in the 24
th minute to give the Wildcats a 4-0 lead at the half.
Darlington capped her hat-trick with goals in the 71
st and 76
th minute. While Garman scored in the 76
th minute for her third goal of the day.
Inside the box: Eight different Wildcats found the back of the net while Klinger dished out a career-high four assists and Darlington finished with eight points by adding two assists.
Morgan Solano returned from injury to post her first victory of the season with 45 first half minutes of scoreless work while
Taylor Brownback played the second half.
Penn College peppered the net with 64 shots (40 on-goal) while limiting the Giants to just two second-half shots on goal.
