Penn College Athletics Unveiled Remaining 2024-25 CATS Awards

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College finished rewarding its student-athletes and coaching staffs with the remaining 2024-25 CATS awards on Wednesday night during halftime of the men's soccer game against Keystone. The final awards included Coach and Assistant Coach of the Year, Scholar Team, and the Wildcat Cup along with an additional Male Athlete of the Year honor.

For the second year in-a-row, Peyton Mussina (Montoursville, Pa.) earned Co-Male Athlete of the Year honors after making the cut at the 2024-25 NCAA Division III Mens Golf Championship. Mussina finished tied for 49th-place and became the college's first All-American in the NCAA-era. Mussina also earned his second PING/GCAA Division III All-Region team following a season in which he averaged 72.2 over 24 rounds. He recorded three tournament victories in 12 events and finished in the top-3 on six occasions last season. During his senior season, Mussina finished third at the United East Championships to garner his third First Team All-Conference selection and helped the Wildcats to their third-straight conference title.

The Penn College Assistant Coach of the Year Award was presented to Roshaun Cooley (Wrestling) for his contributions to the wrestling program during a head coaching transition. Cooley guided the Wildcats to their first-ever conference championship where eight wrestlers earned Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference individual titles, a program-record five grapplers earned all-region honors and four claimed Scholar All-America awards. Cooley was also a part of helping senior 141-pounder Noah Hunt become just the second NCAA Division III qualifier in program history by placing third at the Region 2 Championships.

The Penn College Coach of the Year Award went to Cross Country Coach Tom Leeser. The two-time United East Coach of the Year guided the men's cross country team to its second-straight team championship and the women's placed a program-best fourth in the championship race. Leeser guided nine runners to all-conference honors, while Alec Rees and Kayleigh Miller earned the men's and women's cross country United East Elite 20 Awards given to a runner competing in their championship race with the highest GPA.

Men's Cross Country took home the Scholar Team award highlighting the team with the highest combined grade point average for the 2024-25 academic year. The Wildcat runners posted an astounding 3.55 GPA to claim the annual award for the second consecutive year.
