WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Penn College battled Penn State Berks in a four set United East Conference volleyball match with the Lions taking a 3-1 win Thursday evening inside Bardo Gym. The Wildcats fell to 0-2 in the United East, 3-15 overall, while the Lions scored their first conference win and first win overall (1-1, 1-14).
How it happened: Berks began with a 25-16 victory in set one before the Wildcats got on the board in the second set, 25-21 on a pair of kills by
Lilly Stockum. The Lions responded with set scores of 25-19 and 25-20 in the third and fourth sets, respectively, to earn the match win.
Inside the box: Stockum posted a season-high 24 kills while nearly scoring a double-double with nine digs and added an ace.
Nashalie Vializ dished out 25 assists and scored two service aces and
Kylie Kline led the defensive effort with a team-high 15 digs.Â
Penn College led Berks, 16-11, in service aces behind a six ace night from
Caitlynn Archie.
