Wildcats Roll Lions in Quarterfinal Victory

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Third-seeded Penn College rolled to a 6-0 victory against sixth-seeded Penn State Abington in a United East Women's Soccer Quarterfinal game Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats reach the semifinal game for the second-straight season and improved their record to 15-2-2. Abington finished 6-10-2.

How it happened: Sara Darlington registered a first-half hat-trick with scores in the sixth, 38th and 40th minutes while Brooke Klinger posted her 13th goal of the season just before the half in the 44th minute to hand the Wildcats a 4-0 elad at the break. 

Makayla Bucks and Rylee Oliphant scored second half goals in the 68th and 83rd minute as the Wildcats cruised to the victory. 

Inside the box: Ella Garman, Mikayla Gordon and Ella Gamble also earned points in the match with one assist each. Morgan Solano turned away three shots to earn the clean sheet in net. 

Penn College peppered the Abington goal with 21 shots (15 on-goal) and lined up for six corners while limiting the Lions to five shots and three corners. 

Up next: Penn College will take on #2 St. Mary's or #7 Notre Dame in the semifinal round on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
