WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College dropped a 58-45 decision against Muhlenberg in a nonconference men's basketball game Wednesday. The Wildcats fell to 0-3, while the Mules improved to 1-1.
How it happened: Owen Newcomer's layup to start the game were the only points scored for nearly five minutes to start the contest.
Jay Henry tied the game at 8, with 10:27 left before the break, and
Colby Bost gave PCT its largest lead, 12-8, three minutes later before the Mules ended the half with a 10-5 run to lead 22-17 at halftime.
Penn College pulled within two, 26-24, on a
Landon Reeder jumper with 18:13 left in the game before Muhlenberg used an 11-2 run to take a double-digit advantage and never looked back.
Inside the box: Newcomer led the Wildcats with 13 points and Henry finished with 10, while
Brian Rivera finished with a team-best seven rebounds.
