WINCHESTER, Va. — Penn College wrestlers finished third in a 13-team field and eight Wildcats placed among the top eight in their respective weight classes, with one individual champion and a runner-up, at the Shenandoah University Invitational on Sunday.

On the mat: Carter Davis went 4-0 to claim the 165-pound title, and Cole Shupp finished 3-1 to finish second at 184. Placing fifth were Connor Knight, 4-1 at 133, TJ Martin, 5-1 at 149, and Gavin Gomes, 6-1 at 174. Finishing seventh were Chase Shaner, 3-2 at 141, and Lincoln Archibald, 4-2 at 174, and placing eighth was Cavin Napoletano, 3-3 at 157.

The field: Alvernia University took the team title with 291.5 points. Following were Shenandoah University 140, Penn College 139, Apprentice School 123, St. Vincent College 122, Johns Hopkins 109, Washington and Lee 97, Otterbein University 90.5, Garrett College 87, Randolph 50, Slippery Rock Club 29.5, Marymount 20.5 and UMBC 20.5.
