CRESSON, Pa. – Penn College knocked off Mount Aloysius, 66-55, in a nonconference women's basketball game Saturday. The Wildcats improved to 6-1, while the Mounties fell to 0-4.
How it happened: Five points from
Lexi Troup, and a pair by
Breana Valentine, helped Penn College to 7-0 lead to start the game en route to a 23-15 first quarter advantage. PCT outscored MAC, 14-12, in the second to lead 37-27 at the break. The Wildcats outscored the Mounties, 16-13, in the third, while MAC outpaced PCT, 15-13, in the final quarter.
Inside the box: Troup finished with a season-high 22 points, including 5 of 12 from behind the arc. She added four assists and grabbed four boards. Valentine finished with 17 points, five assists, and six rebounds.
