WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Penn College defeated Penn State Schuylkill, 81-34, Saturday afternoon in a nonconference women's basketball matchup. The Wildcats earned their fourth-straight win and improve to 9-1 overall, the Lions fell to 3-6.
How it happened: After an early 8-5 lead by the Lions,
Gigi Parlante got the offense going with back-to-back buckets to pull the Wildcats ahead, 9-8, and start a 16-4 run to end the quarter with a 21-12 lead.Â
Raeanna Andreas and
Mia Patterson pushed the Wildcats' lead to 10 (25-15) early in the second frame.
Kayla Herzer closed out the half with a pair of layups to gain a 45-23 lead at the break.
The Wildcats outscored the Lions, 36-11 in the final two quarters to earn the victory.
Inside the box: Parlante nearly posted a triple-double with a game-high 26 points, 10 boards and seven assists and added four steals. Patterson scored a season-high 13 points and Raeanna Andreas also scored13 in 29 minutes of work off the bench while seven other Wildcats contributed in the scoring.Â
