YORK, Pa. — Penn College scored 42.5 points and finished 11th in a 16-team field, with one wrestler reaching the podium, at the York College New Standard Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
On the mats: Thirteeneth-ranked Carter Davis finished fourth in the 165-pound weight class, going 6-1, including one fall and two wins by technical fall on the day before taking a medical forfeit in his last bout. Also for the Wildcats, TJ Martin went 3-2 with a fall and two technical falls at 149, Jason Petroski was 3-2 with two falls at 174, Keenan Ray was 2-2 with a fall and technical fall at 141, David M'Balla was 2-2 at 157. Gavin Gomes and Lincoln Archibald both went 2-2 at 174.
The field: Eighth-ranked North Central College took the team crown with 129.5 points and had four individual champions, and #22 Washington & Lee was second with 125.5 points and three champs. Penn College finished one point behind Alfred State College and one point ahead of York.
