Wildcats drop opener to Susquehanna

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College dropped a 21-12 decision to Susquehanna in a nonconference men's lacrosse match Friday. The Wildcats fell to 0-1, while the River Hawks improved to 1-0.

How it happened: The Wildcats struck first in the 11th minute when Brendan Kuczma found Gage McClune, and were ahead 2-1, with nine minutes left after Elliot Dotson netted an unassisted tally. Susquehanna scored the next five goals, spanning the end of the first quarter and early in the second, to take a 6-2 lead. PCT made it 6-3 when Elliot Dotson connected with A.J. Dotson at 9:44 before the Hawks scored eight straight to lead 14-3 at halftime.

Susquehanna increased its lead to 18-3 with 7:03 left in the third before Aidan McFalls found the back of the net with 4:30 left. After a man-up goal from SU, McClune, Jake Small, and A.J. Dotson netted shots to get PCT within 12, 19-7, at the end of the third. The Wildcats outscored Susquehanna, 5-2, in the fourth.

Inside the box: A.J. Dotson paced the offense with three goals, while Elliot Dotson finished with seven points, on one goal and six assists. PCT cleared 19 of 24 attempts and won 18 of 37 faceoffs.
