WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College men's basketball senior
Livingston Cross was named to the
D3Hoops.com All-Region IV Third Team, it was announced Tuesday. Cross' All-Region honor is the second consecutive season the Wildcats earned a third-team selection to the All-Region squad as Cross joined
Gavin Barrett who earned the award at the conclusion of the 2023-24 season.
There were 789 players nominated for the award by Sports Information Directors at various schools nationwide. The ballot was made available to SIDs, who voted for a predetermined number of players across 10 regions.
Players chosen to the D3hoops.com All-Region team are eligible for All-America selection.
Cross completed his Penn College career as a two-time United East All-Conference selection and finished his senior season leading the country with 23 double-doubles and average a double-double with 22.3 points and 13.2 rebounds per game. He led the league, and finished top-5 nationally in rebounds per game and defensive rebounds per game (9.14). The Union, N.J., native led the Wildcats with a team-high 623 points and 369 rebounds to set new program single-season records in both categories. Cross ended his three-year Wildcat career with 1,315 points, second in the NCAA era and fifth all-time behind Greg Solyak, Leroy Joiner, Gavin Barrett and Joe Simon. He also set a new career rebounding record with 711 boards.
Cross is just one of four United East representatives on the All-Region team joining first-team selection Isaiah Eggleston (Penn State Harrisburg) and fellow third-team reps, Tye-Rell Monroe (St. Elizabeth) and Yassine Idrissa (St. Mary's).
This is the 24th year D3hoops.com has named an All-Region team and this year's All-America team will be the 28th annual All-America selections. The D3hoops.com All-American teams, along with those of the respective coaches' associations, are the only ones recognized in the NCAA record book.
