WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Penn College swept Rosemont in a Saturday softball doubleheader. The Wildcats earned a 2-1 victory in game one and a 4-0 win in game two while the PCT pitching duo of
Mackenzie Weaver and Makenzi Tice combined for 26 strikeouts. The Wildcats extended its winning streak to four games and 10-7 overall. The Ravens are 1-15.
In game one,Â
Weaver fanned 10 Ravens in the seven-inning complete game effort while accounting for both of the Wildcats runs by crossing home on a
Ryleigh Rinker single in the first inning and hitting an RBI sac fly in the fifth.
Grace Lorson and Rinker both had a team-high two hits in the game.Â
In game two,
Tice spun a career-high 16 batters and allowed just one hit in the game two victory while Weaver led the Wildcats at the plate with two hits including an RBI double in the fifth and a two-run single in the sixth.Â
Up next: Penn College gets set for a quick turnaround and heads to Penn State Altoona on Sunday for a doubleheader scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
