WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Penn College powered past King's College, 15-4 in midweek nonconference baseball on Tuesday evening. The Wildcats pulled their record back to .500 (8-8) while dropping the Monarchs to 5-13.
How it happened: The Wildcats scored at least two runs in each of the first five innings while adding a four-run fifth and one run in the sixth. Penn College plated three runs in the first inning on an RBI triple off the bat of
Matt Munoz and a two-run single by
Jaydon Goebel to make quick work of the King's starting pitcher.Â
After the Monarchs pulled ahead with a four-run top of the second, the Wildcats scored two in the bottom half when
Ethan Stahl hit an RBI triple to score
Brandon Shane, and later scored on a Munoz ground out. Shane and Stahl added to the Wildcat lead in the third inning with an RBI single and two-run double, respectively.Â
Inside the box: Goebel led the Wildcats at the plate with a 4-for-4 day adding four RBIs and three runs scored.
Nathan Gustkey added three hits with a triple, three runs scored and an RBI. Stahl, Munoz and
Levi Purnell all recorded two hits while Stahl and Munoz both hit a double and a triple.
