WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Penn College defeated cross-town rival Lycoming College, 20-7 in nonconference men's lacrosse action on Wednesday night. The Wildcats won their third-straight game to improve their record to 3-2 while dropping the Warriors to 1-2.
How it happened: Penn College broke a 3-3 first quarter tie with a seven goal explosion in both of the second and third quarters while limiting Lycoming to just four more goals the rest of the night. After the two teams traded the first three goals,
Aidan McFalls scored back-to-back goals to take a 3-2 lead. The Warriors leveled the score with less than a minute remaining in the opening period.
The Wildcats went on a seven goal run through the second quarter as McFalls completed his hat-trick with the Wildcats' fifth goal of the period and
Owen Kupsey notched a hat-trick with three goals in the second quarter to hand the Wildcats a 10-3 lead. Penn College scored the first three goals in the third quarter as
Jake Small finished off his hat-trick effort with 10:31 on the clock to extend the Wildcats' lead to 13-4.Â
Inside the box: Penn College saw 11 different Wildcats score as McFalls scored a game-high five goals while
Will Ehret dished out a team-high four assists and one goal. The Wildcats fired off 60 shots (37 on-goal) and won 23-30 faceoff attempts as
Levi Borkowski won 13-of-14 attempts.
Ryan Twist collected six saves to earn the win in the cage and
Alex Hammond added three saves in relief.Â
