ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Penn College women's volleyball defeated Baruch, 3-1 to earn its first win of the season in the Wildcats final match of the SUNY Oneonta Red Dragon Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats improved to 1-3 on the year following its first tournament of the season.
Against Baruch, the Wildcats posted set scores of 25-22, 22-25, 25-15, 25-20 to earn the match victory.
Ellen Banfill recorded six kills and finished with a .333 hitting percentage while
Haylie Thomsen hit .286 with five aces and three kills.
Lilly Stockum racked up 11 kills and five aces to lead the offense while Banfill dished out 16 assist and
Nashalie Vializ posted 17 digs in the victory.
Against Utica, Penn College started the morning off with a three-set defeat against the Pioneers, 25-11, 25-14, 25-19. Stockum had a team-high 10 kills.
