MEDIA, Pa. — Penn College's men, led by Ben Causak, placed second in an 11-team field, and the women's team, paced by Alexis Durn, was fifth among 10 in the United East Conference Fall Cross-Country Preview hosted by Penn State Brandywine on Friday.
Penn College men 8K: Causak placed 10th among 100 runners in 29:58. Also for the Wildcats, Mitchell Campbell was 15th in 31:34.31, Chase Ebeling was 16th in 31:34.34, Aaron Guerrisky was 18th in 32:00, Jacob Parker was 20th in 32:11, Holden Furey was 29th in 33:10, Oliver Galicki was 31st in 33:18, Ethan Knapp was 36th in 33:52, Ben Heym was 48th in 36:12, Owen Troop was 56th in 37:39, Jackson Small was 69th in 39:09, Nathan Love was 70th in 39:14 and Matt Wheeland was 74th in 39:55. Only the top five count toward the team score.
Men's field: Chase Ely of Williamson was the individual winner in 27:05. Teams: Penn State Berks 49, Penn College 74, Williamson 93, St. Mary's (Md.) Penn College women 6K: Durn was 12th among 75 runners in 27:58. Also for the Wildcats, Ellie Miller was 17th in 28:47, Elaina Brady was 19th in 29:18, Natalie Greiner was 41st in 34:11, Gwynn Johnson was 44th in 34:29 and Isabella Telford was 67th in 45:20. Only the top five count toward the team score.
Women's field: Clarisse Hayden of Cairn was the individual winner in 24:28. Teams: Lancaster Bible College 54, St. Mary's (Md.) College 60, Cairn 93, Penn State Harrisburg 105, Penn College 127, Valley Forge 150, Cedar Crest 153, Rutgers-Camden 169, Penn State Berks 224, Penn State Abington 239.
