WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College blanked Penn State Altoona, 3-0, in a nonconference women's soccer match Wednesday at UPMC Field. The Wildcats improved to 6-0-1, while the Nittany Lions fell to 2-3-2.
How it happened: Sara Darlington gave Penn College an early 1-0 lead when she buried a penalty kick to the left side in the second minute. The Wildcats added two more in the second half when Ella Garmen netted a pair of unassisted goals in the 52
nd and 61
st minutes.
Inside the box: Penn College outshot Altoona, 25-5 (13-1 on-goal) and held a 7-5 edge in corner kicks.
Taylor Brownback stopped one shot to earn the win in goal.
