WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Penn College defeated Juniata College, 24-7 in the Wildcats home-opener Wednesday evening at UPMC Field in nonconference men's lacrosse action. The Wildcats improved to 2-0, the Eagles fell to 0-2.
How it happened: Juniata started the game with a FOGO goal from the opening face-off before the Wildcats poured on eight first-quarter goals.
Elliot Dotson and
Gavin Selchert both scored two in the opening frame while
Aidan McFalls,
Jesse Weick,
Ian Edinger and
Owen Kupsey all hit nylon in the opening quarter.
PCT scored five more goals in the second by
Marcello Santora, Kupsey,
Braden Holland,
Will Ehret and
Quinn Smith before another Juniata goal made the score 13-2 with 5:33 left until halftime.
Levi Borkowski closed out the half with a FOGO goal to lead 17-4 at the break.Â
Ryder Paulbinski netted his first collegiate goal to begin the third quarter while Dotson and Weick tallied their hat-tricks in the third frame. to lead 20-4 heading into the fourth quarter.
Inside the box: Weick led 16 different Wildcats scorers with four goals. Dotson scored a team-high eight points on three goals and five assists while Selchert, Kupsey, and Holland all scored two in the win. Levi Borkwoski went 9-for-11 in faceoffs while
Antonio Santora won 7-of-11 and
Brody Borkowski went 8-for-12 on restarts.
Ryan Twist tallied six saves in the first half.
