WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. –
Will Ehret broke a 14-14 deadlock, with a pair of scores in the final 3:30, to lift Penn College to a 16-14 win over Misericordia in a nonconference men's lacrosse game Saturday. The Wildcats improved to 4-1, while the Cougars fell to 1-3.
How it happened: Penn College held a 14-10 advantage entering the final quarter, but Misericordia erased its deficit with four-straight scores in the opening 10 minutes of the quarter to tie the game at 14 with 5:35 left. The Wildcats defense killed a man-down situation with 4:30 left to spark the team's late run.
Owen Kupsey, Eliot Dotson, and
Aidan McFalls scored consecutive goals to end the first to give PCT a 6-2 lead. After the Cougars scored back-to-back goals to cut into PCT's lead, 7-6, with 4:25 left in the second quarter the Wildcats responded with goals from
Elliot Dotson and
Aidan McFalls to lead 9-6 at the break before Penn College outscored Misericordia 5-4 in the third.
