MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Penn College softball won all four games on Thursday and Friday and improved to 7-1 at the conclusion of its competition at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic. The Wildcats topped Thiel (5-0) and Valley Forge (18-1 (5 inn.)) on Thursday and earned 17-5 (5 inn.) win against Penn State Mont Alto and a 8-7 (9 inn.) win against The College of New Jersey on Friday.

W, 1-0 vs. Hilbert
The Wildcats earned a 1-0 walk-off victory against Hilbert for Coach Savage's first collegiate coaching win. Mileto scored the winning run on an
Astyn Calaman sac fly in the 7th. Six Wildcats collected hits while Tice pitched a 1-hit shutout in the win.
L, 10-2 vs. Albion
Penn College registered just four hits with Rinker accounting for two of them in a 10-2 loss. Mileto and Tice both crossed the plate while
Laney Wilson recorded an RBI.
Alivia Bizzarri struck out three in 3.1 innings of her collegiate debut.
--Tuesday, March 10 --
W, 7-0 vs. Rochester Christian
PCT scored four runs in the second inning and one each in the third, fourth and sixth while Tice spun her second complete game shutout of the week with 11 Ks to get the Wildcats back on track. Tice also drove in the first run of the game on a bases-loaded ground out in the second.
Carissa Lusk doubled to score
Sam Shaw and Rinker and Mileto singled to score Lusk for the four-run inning. Tice and Lusk both finished with two RBIs at the plate and Lusk scored twice in the win.
W, 6-5 vs. Covenant College
Covenant took an early three-run lead in the bottom of the second before the Wildcats matched with three in the third. The Scots plated a run in the fourth and fifth innings before a come-from-behind effort in the top of the seventh sealed the second victory on Tuesday.
Harley Kunes started the rally by reaching on an error and Mileto put pressure on with a bunt single. Crawford and Brown both drove in a run with a pair of RBI singles to tie the game and Crawford later crossed the plate for the game-winner on an error.
Mileto and Brown both collected three hits to lead the offense while
Astyn Calaman recorded three RBIs. PCT emptied its arsenal in the circle as with Bizzarri tossing the first 1.2 innings, Wilson went 3.0 innings before Tice shut the door with three Ks in the final 2.1 innings for the win.

W, 5-0 vs. Thiel
Penn College broke the pitcher's duel with a run in the sixth and tacked on four in the seventh to earn the win.
Taylor Brown put the Wildcats on the board first with a sacrifice fly that scored
Payton Crawford.
Carissa Lusk added to the lead with an RBI double and later scored on a Tomcat error while
Astyn Calaman drove in
Sofia Mileto with an RBI single in the seventh. Tice allowed just two hits to secure her fourth victory of the week.
W, 18-1Â vs. Valley Forge
The Wildcats offense continued into its second game with a 13-run second inning to put the game in hand and force the 5-inning run rule. Crawford and Brown both finished with three hits and four RBIs while Crawford scored a team-high three times.
Arista Fine and
Eliza Sullivan also produced two hits.
Laney Wilson picked up the win in the circle with three innings of action.Â

W, 17-5 vs. Penn State Mont Alto
Penn College posted its second straight run rule victory on the final day of games with a 17-5 win. Despite a 5-run first inning from the Lions, PCT responded by cutting into the lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning courtesy of a
Payton Crawford triple to score Mileto and cross the plate on an error. The Wildcats turned up the heat with 10 runs in the second inning and five in the third to force the early victory.
Sam Shaw, Sullivan and Lusk all had a team-high three hits. Sullivan crossed the plate three times and Shaw led the team with three RBIs. Wilson earned her second consecutive victory with 3.2 innings of shutout work in the circle.
W, 8-7 vs. TCNJ
In the final game of the week, Penn College outlasted TCNJ, 8-7, in extra innings.
Harley Kunes put the finishing touches on the action with a two-run double to plate Shaw and Sullivan to put the Wildcats ahead 8-6 in the top of the ninth inning. TCNJ got a run back in the bottom of the frame, but Tice was able to get out of a bases-loaded jam with a strikeout, groundout and a foul pop-out to Lusk in right field. Tice struck out two in her fifth win of the week while Crawford led the offense with three hits while Kunes posted two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored in the victory.
Up next: Penn College returns to Williamsport to take on Penn State Altoona next Saturday and Saint Elizabeth next Sunday. Both doubleheader series are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
