WILLIAMPSPORT, Pa. – Penn College outscored Morrisville, 10-4, in the second half to earn a 15-12 win in a nonconference men's lacrosse game Saturday. The Wildcats improved to 7-2, while the Mustangs fell to 3-2.
How it happened: Trailing 8-5 at halftime, Penn College pulled within one, 8-7, after scores from
Jake Small and
Aidan McFalls to start the third quarter. Morrisville scored a goal at 11:46 before McFall's man-up goal two minutes later made it 9-8.
After the Mustangs went ahead 11-9, with 8:37 left in the game, Penn College exploded with three straight scores, from Small,
Will Ehret, and McFalls, to take its first lead of the half, 12-11, with 6:24 left in the game. Morrisville deadlocked the game one more time on a goal with 4:21 left, but PCT answered with scores from
Daniel Kalizak,
Elliot Dotson, and
Gavin Selchert to end the game.
Inside the box: Penn College outshot Morrisville, 62-26, and successfully cleared on 17 of 19 attempts, while its ride held the Mustangs to 19 clears on 33 attempts, and
Antonio Santora went 26 of 31 on faceoffs.
McFalls finished with four goals,
Owen Kupsey added three, and Small added two, while
Will Ehret led Penn College with four assists.
Ryan Twist turned away four shots in goal to earn the win.
