Wildcats Drop Doubleheader at Gettysburg

GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- Penn College dropped a pair of nonconference softball games at Gettysburg Thursday afternoon. The Bullets won both games in five innings, taking game one, 8-0, and game two, 10-2. The Wildcats record dropped to 11-3 while the Bullets pulled back to .500 (8-8).

In game one, PCT was held to just one hit by Payton Crawford in the first inning. Mackenzi Tice suffered her first loss of the season. Gettysburg scored eight runs on nine hits and six walks to induce the five-inning run rule.

In game two, Gettysburg jumped out to an 8-0 lead before the Wildcats scored both of their runs in the third inning on an Astyn Calaman RBI double to score Crawford, and a Harley Kunes infield single scored Calaman later in the inning. The Bullets forced another run-rule victory with a two-run triple in the bottom of the fifth.

Calaman was the lone Wildcat to register a hit while scoring both Wildcat runs.
