LANGHORNE, Pa. – Penn College opened United East play with a doubleheader sweep over Cairn University. The Wildcats took the first game, 8-1, and won the second, 10-0, to improve to 2-0 UE, 13-3 overall.

In game one,
Trailing 1-0 heading into the fourth, PCT knotted the game in the top of the frame on Ryleigh Rinker's single to center. A Highlander error in the fifth plated three runs before the Wildcats struck for four runs in the seventh. Taylor Brown, Rinker, and Alivia Bizzarri all brought in runs on singles, while Harley Kunes plated a runner on a fielder's choice.

Kunes and Payton Crawford led the offense with three hits, while Sofia Mileto, Rinker, and Bizzarri each had a pair. Mackenzi Tice improved to 8-1 after a complete-game three-hitter. She surrendered one earned, struck out six, and walked three.

In game two,
The Wildcats took a 4-0 lead in the third on one-run doubles from Mileto and Brown and a Rinker two-run single to left. Penn College added a run in each of the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings – from Crawford, Tice, and Fine, before Crawford's three-run homer in the seventh.
