LATHAM, N.Y. – Penn College women's basketball earned three selections to the United East All-Conference Teams, announced on Wednesday. The Wildcats' record-setting season reached another milestone with three selections. Sophomores
Gigi Parlante (Williamsport, Pa.) earned First Team honors,
Breana Valentine (Fairfield, Pa.) was selected for the Second Team and
Kayla Herzer (Brick, N.J.) rounded out the Third Team.
Parlante earned her second First Team All-Conference selection after leading the Wildcats in scoring (434) and rebounds (238) this season. Parlante started in 25 of 26 games and nearly averaged a double-double every time she stepped on the floor with 16.7 points per game and 9.2 rebounds per game. She finished the season ranked fifth in conference scoring and seventh in rebounds while leading the league with a 52.7% shooting percentage. Parlante also finished fourth in blocks (31), 12
th in assists (70) and 15
th in steals (31) during her sophomore campaign.
Valentine earned a second team selection after her first season in a Wildcat uniform where she scored 313 points and 103 rebounds in 26 games. Valentine finished the season 15
th in the league averaging 12 points per game and led the conference with a 82.8% free throw percentage (72-87). She also finished with the conference's third-best mark of 4.5 assists per game and a 1.3 assist-to-turnover ratio and fifth in total steals (70).
Herzer was selected to the third team as the Wildcats' sixth-woman appeared in 500 minutes across all 27 games. She tallied 196 points and grabbed 169 rebounds while adding 48 assists, 51 steals and six blocks on the season. Herzer produced four double-double performances against conference opponents to pick up her first all-conference nod.
