ASTON, Pa. – Penn College got back into the win column with a 25-6 nonconference men's lacrosse victory at Neumann University Wednesday evening. The Wildcats improved to 10-3 while the Knights fell to 0-8 in the weather-shortened game.
How it happened: Tyler Diffenderfer scored just 47 seconds into the contest and two goals from
Owen Kupsey and
Aidan McFalls within a 48 second span gave the Wildcats an early 3-0 lead. Neumann scored on a man-up opportunity with 9:29 to play in the opening frame before the Wildcats went on an 11-goal run and finished the first half with a 15-2 lead. Kupsey tallied a first-half hat-trick while McFalls,
AJ Dotson and
Elliot Dotson all scored twice in the run.
Chase Kaplan gave the Wildcats a 21-4 lead with 25 seconds remaining in the third period on a feed from
Matthew Capoferri.
Jesse Weick,
Braden Holland and
Isaiah Sensenig all scored in the fourth quarter before the teams were forced off the field due to lightning with five minutes left in the game.
Inside the box: A trio of Wildcats finished with hat-tricks as DeCenzo and Kaplan both scored their first career three-goal games and Kupsey registered his seventh of the season.
Alex Hammond collected four saves and his second win in goal of the year.
AJ and
Elliot Dotson both finished with a team-high six points with two goals and four assists. Kaplan added an assist to finish with four points while six others finished with two points.
Levi Borkowski won 8-of-11 faceoffs while Antonio Sanotra and
Brody Borkowski both went 6-for-12.
