SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Penn College's tennis teams defeated Lancaster Bible College in United East play on Tuesday, both by 5-2 scores. The Penn College men improved to 4-2 in the conference and 6-6 overall, and the women improved to 5-3 UE and 6-9 overall. Lancaster Bible's men are 1-5 UE and 1-9 overall, and its women are 5-3 UE and 5-8 overall.
How it happened men: Penn College won four singles matches and two of three doubles matches.
On the court men: Singles winners for the Wildcats were
Logan Ogden at No. 2, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-6 tiebreaker);
Matt Williams at No. 3, 6-2, 6-0;
Avery Hawk at No. 4, 6-0, 6-2; and
Christian Abromovage at No. 6, by forfeit. Doubles winners were Williams-Hawk at No. 2, 6-2, and Abromovage-
Valentino Barillaro at No. 3, by forfeit.
How it happened women: Penn College won all of its team points in singles.
On the court women: Winning were
Lauren Peck at No. 2, 6-2, 6-3;
Faith Murray at No. 3, 6-2, 6-2;
Leah Vest at No. 4, 6-1, 6-2;
Kiera Wene at No. 5, 6-1, 6-1; and Cici Miller at No. 6, 5-7, 6-4, 10-5. Wildcat winners in doubles were Murray-Vest at No. 2, 6-2.
