WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Penn College blanked Valley Forge in a softball doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats took game one, 1-0, before exploding for a 24-0 victory in game two. PCT improved to 8-2 in the league, 23-5 overall. The Patriots dropped to 2-10 UEC, 7-18.
In game one,Â
Sam Shaw broke through a scoreless game in the sixth inning when her bunt single scored
Ryleigh Rinker from third.
Mackenzi Tice struck out the side in the top of the seventh to secure her 14th victory in the circle. Tice racked up nine Ks in three innings of relief work.
Alivia Bizzarri gave up just two hits in the first 3.1 innings.
In game two,
The Wildcats plated 13 runs in the second inning, nine runs in the third and two more in the fourth to score 24 total. Nine batters recorded a hit as
Sofia Mileto,
Payton Crawford, and
Ryleigh Rinker all had three hits. Crawford finished with a team-high seven RBIs with a triple and a double. Mileto scored a team-high four times while
Carissa Lusk, Rinker, and Tice all scored three times.Â
Tice pitched a three-hit shutout and struck out 10.
