LANGHORNE, Pa. — Penn College tennis teams swept Cairn University in United East play on Saturday, the men winning 4-3 and the women winning 5-2, to close out the conference's regular season, and in doing so, both will be seeded third and host first-round matches
next Saturday. The Wildcat men are 5-2 in the UE and 7-6 overall, and the women's team is 6-3 in the UE and 7-10 overall. Cairn's men are 1-6 UE, 2-11 overall, and its women are 6-3 UE, 6-7 overall.
How it happened men: Penn College won three singles matches and two of three doubles matches for its team points.
On the court men: Singles winners for the Wildcats were
Kyle Shuler at No. 1, 6-3, 6-1;
Matt Williams at No. 4, 6-3, 6-2; and
Avery Hawk at No. 5, 6-4, 6-0. Doubles winners were Shuler-Josh Myers at No. 1, 6-3, and
Logan Ogden-Williams at No. 2, 6-4.
How it happened women: Penn College took all of its team points in singles.
On the court women: Winning were
Lauren Peck at No. 2, 6-3, 3-6, 6-1;
Faith Murray at No. 3, 4-6, 6-3, 6-0;
Leah Vest at No. 4, 6-0, 6-4;
Kiera Wene at No. 5, 6-0, 6-0; and Cici Miller at No. 6, 6-1, 6-2. The lone doubles win came from Murray-Wene at No. 2, 6-1.

next Saturday, the men will host No. 6 Lancaster Bible College and the women will face the winner of a Wednesday play-in match between No. 6 Penn State Berks and No. 7 Penn State Brandywine.
