Wildcats increase win streak to six

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College swept a pair of nonconference softball games against Mount Aloysisus Thursday at the Lumber Yards. The Wildcats won the first game, 2-0, and took the second, 7-5, to improve to 19-3.

In game one,
Payton Crawford gave Penn College a 1-0 lead with a double to left in the first inning before Alivia Bizzarri added an insurance run with a double to left in the sixth inning.

Sofia Mileto finished 3 for 3 at the pate, including a triple, and scored a run, while Crawford finished with a pair of hits. Mackenzi Tice improved to 11-1 after a complete-game five hitter. She struck out 10 and walked two batters.

In game two,
Sacrifices from Crawford and Astyn Calaman put PCT ahead 2-0 in the first inning. The Wildcats added four in the fourth, with RBIs from Mileto, Crawford, Calaman, and Brown to increase the Wildcats' lead, 6-0 and Bizzarri made it 7-0 on fielder's choice in the fifth. MAC got within two  with five runs in the sixth, but Penn College retired the side in the seventh to hold on for the win.

Mileto finished with three hits and two runs scored, while Crawford and Taylor Brown both finished with a pair of hits. Alivia Bizzarri improved to 4-0 after 5.1 innings of work. She allowed two earned, on nine hits, with two walks and two strikeouts. Laney Wilson earned her first save of the season after 1.2 innings in the circle.
