WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Penn College played to a 2-2 draw against Penn St.-Schuylkill in nonconference men's soccer action on Thursday evening at UPMC Field.
Joshua Hudak scored off an
Andrew Mathes assist at 85:40 as the Wildcats equalized late after trailing 2-1. The Wildcats are 3-2-2 overall. Penn St.-Schuylkill is 3-3-1 overall.
How it happened: The Wildcats answered less than a minute after Penn St.-Schuylkill opened the scoring, with Hudak scoring at 11:18 to make it 1-1. Penn College kept the pressure on late, earning four corner kicks from 32:11 to 34:49 and putting a late
AJ Sedor shot on frame at 44:44, but the first half ended tied 1-1.
The Lions pulled ahead with their second goal in the 73rd minute before Hudak's brace pulled the Wildcats even at 2-2. PCT fired off seven second-half shots and generated seven corner kicks, but could not get the go-ahead goal past the Schuylkill keeper who made six saves in the final 45.
Inside the box: Hudak scored twice and put both of his shots on goal. Diaz led the Wildcats with four shots, including three on goal. Sedor recorded one point with the assist and put one shot on frame.
Sean Creegan came away with one save in all 90 minutes in goal.
Luke Smith scored, added an assist for Penn State Schuylkill. Tanner Kolb recorded a goal and an assist and Kevin Wakefield finished with seven saves in goal.
Up next: The Wildcats host Ramapo College on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 1 p.m. at UPMC Field.
