WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Penn College men's soccer dropped a tough, 1-0 nonconference final to Ramapo on Saturday at UPMC Field. The Wildcats put four of their six shots on goal but were held scoreless. The Wildcats dropped to 3-3-2 overall. Ramapo is 3-2-1 overall.
How it happened: Penn College kept Ramapo scoreless in the first half despite four Roadrunner corner kicks, with
Justin Crismale making two saves. The Wildcats put one shot on goal when William Watson tested Zachary Natt in the 23rd minute, then earned a corner kick shortly after before the half ended 0-0.
The Wildcats put three shots on goal in the second half, including saves on
Warrick Beachy's header at 53:30 and
Christian Bressler's attempt at 61:54. Ramapo broke through with a goal at 64:43 to go ahead 1-0.
Robert Antonini made a defensive save early in the half, and Penn College later generated a Diaz corner before Crismale's shot was saved at 89:26. Ramapo held the score there for the 1-0 finish.
Inside the box: Crismale recorded two saves in 90 minutes in goal. William Watson led the Wildcats with two shots, including one on goal. The Wildcats and Roadrunners were deadlocked with four shots on goal in the match.
Lucas Mielnikiewicz scored the game-winning goal and put all three of his shots on goal. Dylan Perez recorded an assist and added one shot. Zachary Natt made four saves in a 90-minute shutout.
