PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Penn College defeated Chatham 2-0 in a rain-shortened nonconference women's soccer match on Wednesday evening. The Wildcats scored both goals in the second half and held the Cougars to just three shots on goal before play was halted in the 80th minute to post the shutout. The Wildcats improved to 3-0-0 overall. Chatham is 0-2-1 overall.
How it happened: Penn College generated repeated pressure in the first half, earning three corner kicks between 24:25 and 28:38 before
Ella Garman sent a shot high. The visitors pushed again late as
Cadence Holmberg had a shot saved at 37:44, followed by another corner and shots from Garman and
Lily Persing.
Harley Oliphant made a save in the eighth minute, and the half ended scoreless.
Garman gave the Wildcats the breakthrough at 50:12 and added a penalty-kick goal at 68:32, putting Penn College ahead 2-0 in the second half.

Inside the box: Garman scored twice on four shots while Oliphant improved to 3-0-0 in goal with her second shutout of the season. The Wildcats held a 10-7 shot advantage (5-3 on target) and lined up for six corners in the game.
For the Cougars, Kyanni Escudero recorded three saves while playing 79:55 in goal. Maggie Eccard shared the team lead with two shots and put one on goal and Jorjanne Seaman also finished with two shots, including one on goal.
