Women's Basketball: Alfred Too Much for Lady Wildcats

ALFRED, N.Y. - Despite 13 points from sophomore Danielle Mowery (Shamokin), the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's basketball team lost 101-44 to Alfred University Sunday. The Lady Wildcats struggled with ball control turning it over 32 times in the game allowing Alfred to score 41 points off of them. The loss now drops the team to 1-8 overall.

Out of the gate, freshman Chelsea Burger (Millersburg) hit a jumper to put Penn College up early. The lead was short lived as the Saxons went on to score 14 points in the first five minutes to take a 14-4 lead. From there, they controlled the pace going into the break up 43-17.

In the half, the Lady Wildcats shot 7-27 (.259) from the field and were out-rebounded 37-20. They committed 20 turnovers in the half.

Penn College cleaned it up in the second half, but the damage was done and Alfred conitnued its strong shooting ending the game with the 57 point victory margin.

For the game, the Lady Wildcts totaled 40 rebounds with freshman Addie Jordan (Muncy Valley) leading the team with 11.

Next up, Penn College hosts Elmira College on Saturday, Dec. 14 for a 2 p.m. game.
