Box Score MANSFIELD, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology baseball team dropped two games to Mansfield University Tuesday by scores of 7-3 and 19-5. The Mounties' offense was strong against the Penn College pitching staff totaling 27 hits between the two games. Junior Zachary Buterbaugh (Conestoga) led the Wildcats in game one with three hits while freshman Cole Weachock (Pottsville) stepped up in game two with two hits including a three-run home run. The losses now drop the Wildcats to 6-4 overall.

In the opener, Zachary Buterbaugh led off with a double. He scored on junior Zachary Weil's (Kutztown's) two-out double to put the team up early. Three hits in the bottom of the inning put the Mounties on top 2-1.

Zachary Buterbaugh again doubled in the third inning scoring off a single from senior Cody Buterbaugh (Conestoga) to tie it up. Mansfield scored a run in the bottom to take back the lead. Junior starter Tyler Cooklin (Rippey, IA) came out in the third finishing his day with five earned runs off of seven hits and four strikeouts.

Down 5-2 in the fifth, Cody Buterbaugh notched his second RBI of the game with a sacrifice fly to centerfield scoring Zachary Buterbaugh. The Mounties tacked on two more runs in the fifth ending the game with the 7-3 advantage.

Zachary Buterbaugh led the team going 3 for 4 with three runs. Penn College totaled seven hits in the game. Junior John Rodriguez-McKeon (Stroudsburg) finished out the game pitching 2.2 innings with one hit, two runs and two strikeouts.

In game two, Mansfield plated three in the first off an error and two hits. The Wildcats countered with five runs in the third with Cody Buterbaugh hitting a two RBI single and Weachock capping the inning off with a three-run home run.

Weachock finished the game 2 for 3.

The Mounties countered with four runs in the bottom of the inning to make it a 7-5 game. Senior starter Josh Longsderff (Columbia) came out after the third finishing his day with six earned runs off of six hits and two strikeouts.

Against junior reliever Matthew Demilio (Greensburg), Mansfield tacked on 10 more runs over the next two innings making it a 17-5 ballgame. Freshman Christopher Glunk (Jersey Shore) finished out the game allowing two runs off of three hits and striking out two.

As a team, the Wildcats totaled six hits to Mansfield's 19.

Penn College next travels to Penn State Greater Allegheny on Saturday, Mar. 29 for a 2p.m. double header.
