Box Score WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior Joshua Longsderff (Columbia) racked up two hits, including a grand slam, to lead the Pennsylvania College of Technology baseball team to a sweep of Penn State Hazleton Thursday. Longsderff totaled five RBI on the day and also notched the win on the mound in the first game. The Wildcats won 18-4 and 11-0 totaling 24 hits and .809 slugging percentage between the two games. With the sweep, Penn College improves to 10-6 overall and 4-2 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

In the opener, the Wildcats totaled 11 hits and had to play catch-up in the first two innings as Hazleton scored three runs. None of the runs were earned on starter Longsderff and he pitched the next two scoreless innings totaling only two hits and six strikeouts.

Junior John Rodriguez-McKeon (Stroudsburg) closed out the final innings allowing an unearned run with three strikeouts. Penn College scattered 18 runs over the first four innings ending the game early.

Junior Zachary Weil (Kutztown) led the game with four RBI. Junior Zachary Buterbaugh (Conestoga) was 3-4 with four runs and an RBI while sophomores James Simasek (Landenberg) and Rantz Mahaffey (Linden) each were 2-3 with two runs.

Freshman Kyle Fox (Fleetwood) pitched all five innings of game two striking out nine in the shutout. He allowed only three hits.

In the second inning, with the Wildcats up 3-0, junior James Scully (Middletown, Del) hit his first career home run.

Longsderff's grand slam came in the fourth with the team up 6-0. He finished the game 2-3 as did sophomores Jeremy Rall (Williamsport) and Tanner Kibe (Reedsville) who each notched two runs. Rounding out the top hitters was freshman Darien Ebersole (Pequea) who was 2-2 with a run and RBI.

Next up, Penn College hosts Penn State Schuylkill on Saturday, Apr. 5 for a noon doubleheader.
