Box Score YORK, Pa. – Combining for 13 strikeouts on the day, senior Josh Longsderff (Columbia) and junior
Tyler Cooklin (Rippey, Iowa) led the Pennsylvania College of Technology baseball team to a sweep of Penn State York Saturday. Cooklin pitched a complete game one with seven strikeouts for the 5-1 win while Longsderff allowed only one hit and added six strikeouts to his five-inning, 13-0 victory. Junior
Zachary Buterbaugh (Conestoga) led the offense with six hits on the day. With the sweep, the Wildcats improve to 14-7 overall and 8-2 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.
In the opener, Cooklin allowed only three hits with the lone York run coming unearned in the sixth. Freshman
Evan Vigna (McAdoo) started things off in the first with an RBI single while
Zachary Buterbaugh made it 2-0 in the second doing the same.
Zachary Buterbaugh finished the game 4 for 4.
Sophomore
Jeremy Rall (Williamsport) hit a bases-loaded sac fly in the fourth for the RBI. Sophomore
Tanner Kibe (Reedsville) tacked on the team's last two runs in the fifth with a single. He finished with two hits.
For the game, the Wildcats totaled 10 hits.
In game two, Longsderff was lights out on the mound and got run support early as junior
Zachary Weil (Kutztown) hit a two-run home run in the first to cap off a three-run effort for the inning. Senior
Cody Buterbaugh (Conestoga) hit a double in the second for two RBI capping off a five run inning.
Freshman
Cole Weachock (Pottsville) helped Penn College score three in the fourth with a two RBI double. The Wildcats tacked on three more runs in the fifth to end the game early including a two RBI double from sophomore
Michael Scully (Middletown, Del.).
Penn College totaled 15 hits in the game with
Zachary Buterbaugh going 2 for 4 and Vigna 3 for 3 with two doubles.
