Box Score WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Penn College overcame a four point halftime deficit en route to 93-85 win over Bryn Athyn in North Eastern Athletic Conference women's basketball game Thursday. The Wildcats improved to 6-3 NEAC, 7-6 overall, while the Lions dropped to 3-5, 4-9.
Jamie Steer matched her career-high with 37 points, her second consecutive 30-plus game. She added 12 rebounds to pick up her first double-double this season.
Charese Bova recorded her 10
th double-double this season with 12 points and 14 rebounds and
Alicia Ross netted her 11
th game in double figures with 20 points.
Danielle Mowery finished with 12 points and a team-best four assists for PCT.
Kristina Clark led Bryn Athyn with 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
After three ties in the opening five minutes of the game, Bryn Athyn used a 21-10 scoring run to take a 25-14 lead with 10 minutes left in the first half. Penn College answered with a 14-4 surge to regain the lead, 28-27, after
Anna-Marie Raybuck's traditional three-point play with 5:16 on the clock. Ross and Bova each netted four in the run for the Wildcats, while Mowery and Raybuck scored three points each.
Gabby Battle's jumper with 3:11 remaining in the half evened the game for the fifth time, 32-32, before the Lions finished the half outscoring Penn College 10-6 to lead 42-38 at halftime.
The Wildcats opened the second with an 8-4 run and tied the game for this sixth time on Ross's jumper with 17:51 left in the game. After the game was deadlocked for the ninth time, 62-62, with 10:54 left in the second half, Penn College used a 10-3 run - led by Ross' and Steer's four points - to take a 72-65 lead with 6:13 on the clock. The Lions managed to get within two twice over the next few minutes but Penn College had an answer both times, before taking its largest lead, 86-76, with 1:42 remaining in the game. The Wildcats connected on 7 of 10 shots from the line in the final 1:30 to ice the win.
