Box Score 2 MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Penn College split a pair of non-conference softball games Tuesday in Myrtle Beach. The Wildcats were edged by Mount Aloysius 3-2 in eight innings before they picked up their first win this season with an 8-2 win over Delaware Valley.
In Game One,
Penn College took a 1-0 lead with a run in the first before MA evened the game with a run in the third. Both teams added a run each in the seventh and Mount Aloysius plated the game-winner in the eighth inning.
Shelby Lyter worked all eight innings from the circle for Penn College. She scattered seven hits, struck out four and walked one batter.
Nicole Lo Furno went 2 for 3 at the plate for the Wildcats.
In Game Two,
The Wildcats used a four-run first inning en route to their first win this season. Penn College tacked on a run in the second and seventh innings and added two in the second inning.
Arika Stopper picked up the win with a complete-game effort.
