MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Penn College split a pair of non-conference doubleheader softball games Thursday in Myrtle Beach. The Wildcats handled SUNYIT 10-2 and fell 9-3 to MacMurray. Penn College improved to 2-6.
 
Against SUNYIT,
 
Penn College scored three runs in the first inning, two in the third, four in the fourth and one in the fifth. Breanna Abbey went 3 for 4 at the plate, including a single, double and triple, Macie Lucas was 2 for 2, Shelby Lyter 2 for 3 and Alex Brennan 2 for 3.
 
Arika Stopper picked up the win with a complete-game five hitter.
 
Against MacMurray,
 
Penn College added a run in the first, third and seventh inning. Brennan finished 2 for 3 at the plate, while Abbey went 2 for 3.
