WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College picked up a pair of 6-3 decisions over Bryn Athyn in North Eastern Athletic Conference men's and women's tennis doubleheader Tuesday. The women improved to 3-2 NEAC, 3-8 overall, while the men improved to 1-3, 2-9.
In the women's match,
Carolyn Krasley battled in No. 1 singles, losing the first set 3-6 before rebounding with 7-5 and 13-11.
Megan Barlett earned a 6-0, 6-1 decision in No. 2 singles,
Morgan Blackwell picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win in No. 3 and
Jane Herman blanked her opponent at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Krasley and Blackwell teamed up to win No. 1 doubles 8-6, while Barlett and Herman picked up an 8-1 win in No. 2 doubles.
In the men's match,
Benjamin Leibig earned a shutout win in No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0 and
Christopher Morrin picked up a 6-0, 6-4 win in No. 2 singles.
Ethan Rosler went to a tiebreaker in No. 3 singles, earning a 6-1, 7-6 (8-6) win.
Andrew Welsh won Penn College's other singles match with a 7-6 (7-1), 6-2 victory in No. 5 singles.
Leibig and Morrin won their doubles match, 8-0, and Rosler and
Nick Rausch picked up an 8-5 win in No. 2 doubles.
Penn College returns to action Friday, 3 p.m., at Keuka.
