WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College dropped a pair of non-conference tennis matches Sunday. The Wildcats fell 9-0 in the men's meet and 5-2 in the women's competition.
Penn College's men fell to 0-4, while the women dropped to 0-6.
In the women's meet,
Melissa Stabley fought hard in No. 1 singles, winning the first set 7-2 and the second 7-6 (7-5). The Wildcats picked up their second via a forfeit at No. 5 singles, while the Monarchs dropped just five games in the remainder of the matches.
In the men's meet,
King's picked up straight-set shutouts in six of the nine matches.
Ben Morton had the most competitive singles match for Penn College, falling 6-0, 6-4 at No. 4. He later teamed with
Matthew Elliott in No. 2 singles and battled to an 8-3 setback.
Penn College returns to action Saturday, 12 p.m., at Susquehanna.
