Dallas, Pa. – Penn College men's and women's tennis took on Misericordia University in non-conference matches Monday. It was the season opener for women and the second time out for the men.
In the men's match,
The Wildcats cruised to a 9-0 victory. With the win Penn College improves to 1-1 on the year, while the loss drops Misericordia to 0-1.
Penn College won all six single matches in straight sets. Both Garrett Benner and Andrew Francisco won their single matches 6-0, 6-0. The number one doubles was the most competitive doubles match with Blake Whitmire and Nicholas Pascual winning 8-3.
Penn College returns to action Saturday at Arcadia.
In the women's match,
Penn College women's tennis opened their season with a 9-0 loss to Misericordia. With the loss the Wildcats fell to 0-1, while the Cougars improved to 1-0.
Misericordia surrendered just three singles games and won all three doubles matches 8-0.
